How to Find Nearby Games

Quiplets finds games around you automatically — no room codes, no internet. If nobody shows up, it's almost always Wi-Fi or Local Network permissions.

Quick checklist

  1. 1. Be in the same room. Quiplets uses local Wi-Fi networking, so players need to be close to each other.
  2. 2. Turn Wi-Fi on. You don't need to join a Wi-Fi network — the radio just needs to be enabled.
  3. 3. Allow Local Network access. Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network → enable Quiplets.
  4. 4. Make sure someone started a game. If no nearby game exists, Quiplets starts a new one with you as host.

Nearby games FAQs

How does Quiplets connect players?

Quiplets automatically looks for games nearby. If it finds one, you can join it. If no game is found, Quiplets starts a new game with you as the host.

Why can't I see my friend's game?

Make sure you're near the other players, a game was started by another player, Wi-Fi is turned on, and Quiplets has Local Network access enabled.

Why did Quiplets start a new game instead of finding my friend's game?

Quiplets starts a new game when it can't find an existing game nearby. If your friend already started a game, check that your Wi-Fi is enabled (you don't need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network) and Quiplets has Local Network access.

Do we need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi?

No. Wi-Fi needs to be turned on, but you don't need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network to connect and play with friends.

How do I turn on Local Network access for Quiplets?

Open Settings on your iPhone, then tap Privacy & Security, then tap Local Network, then enable the toggle for Quiplets.

Why can my friends find the game but I can't?

Check Wi-Fi and Local Network permissions on your device.

How close do players need to be to play together?

Quiplets uses local Wi-Fi networking to connect to other players. Generally, players in the same room should be able to find and connect to games started in the same room.
